It’s mid-august and that means fall lookbooks are starting to drop!
We had the For Love and Lemons pre-fall/fall lookbook “Interview with the Vampire” drop a few weeks ago:

You seriously can’t go wrong with that photographer stylist combo (Zoey Grossman + Ashley Glorioso forEVA!) H&M is perfection and that location is a dream!
Another typically dynamic duo who can do no wrong is one of my favorite models, Kelley Ash, and photographer Harper Smith. So yesterday when Bona Drag (everything they put out is gold) dropped their new lookbook featuring this dream team, I literally dropped what I was doing while chanting “oh my god, oh my god, oh my god” while I ran to the nearest computer to click through.
I kept looking over the images, as if I were waiting for the other shoe to drop. Here are the two images I loved:
It pains me to say it, but I am very underwhelmed. This lookbook seems rushed, tired, and been-done. The image of Kelley in the body paint wearing Pamela Love is absolutely stunning – I think a jewelry lookbook featuring more of those images would have been spectacular. But the rest don’t really do it for me…I should stop here because I hate talking badly about a site who I love and respect so much…but
where’s the fun in that?
There are a lot of images where it seems like they just didn’t know what to do with Kelley…like…
“Hey Kelley! Go stand under that tree!”
Kelley: “okay, how’s this?”
“Great!!!!!!!!!!!!!” *snap snap
“Oh look! a cool pseudo cave thing! Kelley, climb down there and do witchy things”
Kelley: “ok, I’m a witch, but in the sixties”
“WOAH!!!” *snap snap
“Kelley, uh, I don’t know, I guess just like, stand over here”
Kelley: “uuuuh guys I’m really hot and my feet hurt”
“Perfect Kelley! Just hold whatever it is you’re doing there” *snap snap
ALSO: How do you manage to take an unflattering photo of this beautiful model?
Mind boggling.
Sorry ladies. I still fucking love you.
xoxo
